Who is Louis Dantil?

Louis Dantil is a Haitian philosopher, writer, entrepreneur and professor with doctoral studies in International Peace Studies, Conflict Management and Development.

He currently resides in Spain where he has completed most of his higher studies between master's degrees and doctoral studies. He was born in a small village in northern Haiti called Palmary in Ranquitte. There, he completed his primary studies at the Don Bosco School in Palmary before moving to Pignon, a neighboring town from his hometown, to do his secondary studies.

He is the father of two girls, the eldest being Louiseney Valentina Dantil Ruiz and the youngest Chloé Dantil Andreu. He is co-founder and president of several non-governmental institutions such as: Invictus European Students Services - IESS, Club Kiskeya and the International Institute of Communication and Education for Structural Inclusion and Integration - IICEIIE. The last one is a project arising from his thesis and doctoral work.

He is the inventor and promoter of the communicative and educational theory of the Linguistic Semantic Turn (GSL) whose objective is the elaboration of a speech that is linguistically inclusive and inclusive, educationally integrative and communicationally cohesive.

According to Louis Dantil, the great social problems materialized in the production of social inequalities that hinder our societies and communities have their origin in language, which is used to theorize, legitimize and justify certain mistreatments, myths and stereotypes that discredit people. certain groups and collectives based on certain conditions such as skin color, gender, origin, religion, language, even surname, among other things.

Therefore, managing these problems and conflicts requires the Semantic Linguistic Analysis of Discourses (ASLD) and seeing how the contents transmitted (by said discourses) affect society and how the audience (public opinion) relates and interrelates with the objects. of these discourses (especially people) after listening and internalizing them.

Early ages and education

Louis Dantil is the son of Jules Dantil and Louisenie Saintilus. He was born in a small town called Palmary where he spent his first 12 years and completed his primary studies at the Don Bosco School in Palmary.

He completed his secondary studies at the College de la Grace de Pignon, a neighboring town to Ranquitte where he spent his teenage years. In fact they know him more in Pignon than in his own village Ranquitte.

From a young age, Louis Dantil identified with the most vulnerable people, the poorest, which is why he believed that entering the seminary could enable him to help these people more.

After his secondary studies, Louis Dantil moved to the Haitian capital where he began his higher studies to be a priest at the major seminary of the Escalabrinian Missionaries, a congregation that works with migrants.

After two years of philosophical studies, he had to start the novitiate, however they have told him that he could not continue because, among other things, he presented lack of paternal affection and showed authoritarian traits, things that, according to his superiors, make it impossible for him to advance in the priesthood .

After what Louis Dantil himself considered a failure, he decided to travel to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to seek new horizons. There he seeks a new religious congregation to follow his priestly vocation. There too, he met the Redemptorist Fathers (Missionaries) who work with the poorest of the poor including migrants.

However, after 6 years of studies with the latter, he was branded a rich mentality and his way of dressing always elegant with an expensive appearance were reasons enough not to continue being part of the congregation. The truth, dressing and smelling good is his lifestyle and it is something that he takes very seriously since, according to him, in a society where appearance is the other's measurement rule, clothing has the power to change. and reverse this rule.

Louis Dantil assured that, knowing that he was going to be thrown out of the congregation once more, he himself decided to deliver his letter of resignation on the same date that he had to renew his religious vows of chastity, poverty and obedience. After two failed attempts to become a priest, Louis decided to leave this lifestyle behind to dedicate himself to training and living as an ordinary citizen.

Louis Dantil's life after leaving religious life

After leaving religious life, Louis Dantil decided to spend a year working at the Call Center in the Dominican Republic.

After this year of work, he decided to go to Colombia where he completed his undergraduate studies in philosophy at the San Alfonso-FUSA University Foundation in Bogotá, a university run by the Redemptorist Fathers themselves, where they threatened him several times to kick him out of the University because he could not pay a fee. debt that reached almost the equivalent of 3500.00 USD.

On the day of his graduation (12/12/12), the academic vice rector told him, handing over the title: Finally, you got it!

High school and post-graduate studies

In 6 years, Louis Dantil completed 3 master's studies and a doctorate at the same University, the Universitat Jaume I de Castellon de la Plana / Castellon.

Louis has a master's degree in International Peace, Conflict and Development Studies (2 years), a Master's degree in International New Business Creation (1 year) and a Master's degree in Development Cooperation (1 1/2). His PhD thesis is under review and he hopes to defend it before 2022.

Louis Dantil in Spain

During the 6 years in Spain, apart from his postgraduate studies, Louis Dantil became an entrepreneur, in Spain autonomous. He founded the company and brand DLUXOMODE SL (DM®) and his first online sportswear store.

Also, he created DLUXOTECH distributing electronic accessories with which he fractured more than 100,000.00 EUR in a single month. He began to diversify prematurely, and the company went bankrupt, leaving him with a few debts in Spain.

This forced him to cease the activities of DLUXOMODE SL and he dedicated himself to his doctoral studies and work for others (with other people) in different companies in the teaching, catering and tourism sectors in Spain in precarious conditions until March 2020, two days before declaring general confinement throughout Spain due to Covid, a situation that led him to lose his job and make a living for himself.

In December 2019, Louis Dantil decided to start a travel blog to recommend travel sites and things. He also set up a store associated with this blog that, during the Covid, had a turnover of more than 40,000.00 EUR in just 2 months without any type of advertising other than Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

Louis has created other lines of business such as To go to Venus dedicated to the sale of adult items. He also created the EBEP EXPRESS brand, a logistics company with national and international shipping operated mostly in Europe, among other things.

Academic works and ideas of Louis Dantil

Throughout his postgraduate studies, particularly during the master's degree in International Peace, Conflict and Development Studies, Louis Dantíl developed and promoted the theory of the Semantic Linguistic Turn (GSL), an ethical-semantic and philosophical approach to discourse according to which Discourse can be used as an effective and efficient tool for the resolution of conflicts originated and linked to the handling of words, by changing the approaches and cognitive frameworks associated with them in the act of communication.

In other words, Louis Dantil thinks that language, being the main tool of socialization of human beings, if applied in a positive way with inclusive and inclusive approaches, can contribute to building more cohesive and integrated communities beyond the logics of differences. For more information on the linguistic semantic turn, consult the Doctoral Thesis.

Also, Louis Dantil has developed the Communication and Education Workshop for Structural Integration (TCEIE) with its respective method, the Semantic-Linguistic Discourse Analysis (ASLD) consisting of establishing

the conditions that allow us to understand the processes of construction, transmission and displacement of meanings and that influence the social relations that arise in the different cultural, social, organizational and institutional structures.

For more information on the Workshop on Communication and Education for Structural Integration (TCEIE) with its respective method, the Semantic-Linguistic Analysis of Discourse (ASLD), please consult Louis Dantil's Doctoral Thesis.

In any case, the International Institute of Communication and Education for Structural Inclusion and Integration - IICEIIE will be in charge, among other things, of promoting the linguistic semantic turn, as well as the works and research associated with them and will guard the Workshop and the different activities academic and research related to it.
